Gabby Thomas is a golden girl, and not just on the tracks. Go big or go home: the Harvard graduate seems to embody the philosophy to the tee, and it has paid off in the best way possible. When the 27-year-old crossed the finishing line at Stade de France hours ago, it wasn’t just her bright smile that blinded fans and onlookers.

Instead, it was a special part of her outfit that turned heads in the French capital. A post by highsnobiety on X from just about an hour ago brought attention to the stylish timepiece Gabby sported for the women’s 200m final. “Gabby Thomas wearing gold taking home the gold,” reads the caption of the post as it goes on to note how the OMEGA Constellation watch was a glamorous feature of Thomas’ drip from the night.

In the post-match interview, Thomas went on to narrate how she falls in love with the sport anew every day. She acknowledged that the journey wasn’t always easy or enjoyable, but went on to narrate how she started setting goals for herself to look forward to. “I just love chasing goals. I love chasing my dreams I love moments like these,” she said.

While she did joke that track can become tiring considering athletes are “literally running” all the time in pursuit of greatness, she also made it clear that finding the beauty in it helped her to keep pushing. In the interview, Gabby also revealed that she wanted to quit many times, as she found the professional circuit to be highly demanding and often thought she wasn’t cut for it. However, lucky for the fans, she swallowed the hard pill like a true champ and decided to rise up to the occasion. To sweeten the deal, her grit and dedication spill over to other facets of her life as well.

Gabby Thomas likes to push forth, on all fronts!

Thomas lives her life to the fullest both on and off the tracks. Finishing her master’s degree in public health last year, she works as a volunteer at a healthcare clinic in Austin, Texas where she helps patients who don’t have insurance. And yet, her medical career can’t hold Gabby back from putting in three to six hours every day to sharpen her skills. Her dedication and efforts culminated earlier tonight when she stormed through the finishing line on the purple track and bagged her maiden Olympic gold medal.

With that, Gabby also managed to finally turn her bronze from three years ago to gold on the grandest stage of them all, and her beaming smile underscored what the moment meant to her. In the process of hauling gold in 21.83 seconds, the track star defeated Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred (22.08), who won the women’s 100m gold just days ago pulling a quick one over the USA’s Sha’Carri Richardson. Naturally, Gabby’s victory almost felt like redemption for fans back home.
