5 Superstar Athletes That Richard Mille Signed Including Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce

Jamaican sprinting legend, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce’s track and field records have set her on the legend’s list. Apart from being the five-time world champion, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has been a part of many great endorsements and brand deals. On the same note, she recently joined forces with yet another brand and took the spotlight once again.

Dubbed as Pocket Rocket, one of the greatest female sprinters of all time, has become the latest brand ambassador for Swiss Watchmaking brand Richard Mille. However, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is not the only sprinter to join the sponsorship list. Here are some of the best names to feature on that list.

Akani Simbine, Maria Vicente, and others join Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce on the list

In November 2023, the Swiss brand announced Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce as its new brand ambassador, and gave her the moniker “The Unstoppable” on their official website.

Following this, Rori Dunk curated a list of athletes who have received Richard Mille’s sponsorship along with Fraser-Pryce. His X-post showcased that list with the caption, “Richard Mille isn’t new to the athlete sponsorship game …Here are some other Athletics athletes they’ve signed.”

Joining forces with Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce are South African sprinter Akani Simbine, Spabrand ambassadornish track and field star Maria Vicente, Qatari sprinting prodigy Mutaz essa Barshim, and Belgian athlete Nafi Thiam.

 

Interestingly, Amanda Mille, the brand head of Richard Mille, highlighted Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce’s “strong woman” impression of sponsoring her. She also preferred the former world champion’s role in the charity and commitment to the sport echoing the values of Richard Mille. So, garnering interest in Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has fetched Richard Mille brand excellence and performance in the same place.

Amanda Mille added, “Shelly-Ann is not only a World Champion. She is a strong woman who combines this with being a mother. As if that wasn’t already enough, she finds the energy for her charity work and this all-round commitment totally reflects our values.” Nevertheless, the Jamaican also expressed her elation as she is all set to don Richard Mille watch in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Excellence and performance remain at the core 

Next year at the French capital, Fraser-Pryce will be donning an RM 07-04 Automatic Sport on her wrist. Interestingly, as she is all girded up to showcase her prowess on the tracks of Paris, all while flaunting her Richard Mille watch, the sprinter stated, “People have always told me what I could or couldn’t do, I wanted to be part of a brand that knows about timing and where age doesn’t limit your progress. At the end of the day, we have the same vision as it pertains to our legacy. What we want to achieve is timeless.

She further conceded, “It’s a partnership. When I step on the line it’s about me bringing out the part of me which can best show this unique watch off to the world.” Interestingly, this year Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won the Laureus World Sports Award for Sportswoman of the Year. On that platform, she recognized her role as someone who can change the world differently. Richard Mille’s sponsorship might have come to her as the full circle recognizing her role.
