The world is cognizant of track and field prodigy Tara Davis-Woodhall’s prominence on track when she zips past her rivals. At the recent 2024 World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, the 24-year-old nabbed the gold podium in the long jump event. This win came some months after her extraordinary silver-winning feat at the 2023 World Championships. But with her athletic side co-exists a beautiful marital relationship with her husband, Hunter Woodhall.

On October 16, 2022, the lovebirds tied the nuptial knot after being committed for long. Hunter Woodhall, also an athlete, competes as a Paralympian. Being born with fibular hemimelia compelled his parents to amputate both his legs early. But this rough patch was never a spot of bother to Woodhall. He was an unstoppable force until trolls slid into the comment section and got snapped by his beloved.

In an Instagram post of U.S Paralympic Track and Field, the 25-year-old champion amputee got backlashes for his imperfection. The caption of the post read, “Poetry in motion from @hunterwoodhall” and the video paired with it was of his 100m American record-setting dash from the Toyota-sponsored event. But the comments that showed up read something like “Bro….. he has no calves to get sore or tired” and “You can’t compete with someone who have these legs never” were enough to spoil the essence of the win.

Amid such a celebratory occasion, when such distasteful comments crept in, wife Tara Davis-Woodhall couldn’t stay put. She left a comment reading, “Does anyone else want to comment about hunter? meet me in my DMs”. As an add-on, she also reiterated in her Insta story, stating, “tired of the uneducated noobs who think is funny to “joke”…“. As his strongest support, the University of Georgia graduate exemplifies the qualities of a true confidante.

After his 100m win, Tara took to her Instagram story to post, “...so proud of you boobear 100m American record, tomorrow is going to be so much fun.”  Adding her personal touch, calling him boobear in public was a matter of pride for her. He also expressed content after his performance saying, I’m just so happy”, “It’s so validating”.

Girding up for  putting up his name in the 400m history book, Hunter Woodhall will take his sprinting attributes up a notch. Alongside his high jumper wife, he will also be a probable contestant in Paris.
