US hurdler Tia Jones revealed her love interest right at the start of the NFL Drafts. The 23-year-old, who clocked an impressive 7.67s at the USATF Indoor Championships, has had her personal life shrouded in mystery. Despite dating rumors, she remained tight-lipped about the speculations. 

However, at the NFL draft pick event, Tia Jones was spotted in attendance cheering for one particular guy. And yes, it was Xavier Worthy! In what was a great outcome for the young footballer, Worthy was roped in by the Kansas City Chiefs as the 28th pick of the evening. Meanwhile, the buzz around Tia Jones and Xavier Worthy heightened as they became the new power couple in the sporting realm at the moment. 

Soon after the revelation, social media was abuzz with ‘Track Spice’ reporting the same in their X post. The post read, “Tia Jones is officially dating Kansas City Chief’s new wide receiver Xavier Worthy. He played college football for the Texas Longhorns and was just selected by the Chiefs with the 28th pick at the 2024 NFL Drafts.”  In another post, they shared an image of what looked like a proposal, with a caption, “How romantic is this. Somebody just asked Tia Jones to be their girlfriend.”

And as it seems, Worthy and Jones are having a dream run in their life altogether. Apart from getting lucky in their love life, the couple had significant success recently.  

Tia Jones and Xavier Worthy: A power couple in the making

Tia Jones has been one of the most promising hurdlers in the USA track and field realm. Competing in the World Under 20 Championships, Jones clinched a bronze and a gold in 2016 and 2018 respectively. While these achievements came in the 100m discipline, Jones also expanded her area of expertise to the 4x100m relay. In the 2016 edition, she clinched gold further to establish her dominance in the track and field realm. After a significant dip in performance, Jones came back stronger to register a personal best in the 100m hurdles by clocking 12.38s in 2022.

Playing as a wide receiver for the Texas Longhorns, Worthy bagged the First Team All-Big 12 twice in 2021 and 2023 respectively. He also was awarded the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year in 2021. But his biggest achievement came recently when he attempted a 40-yard dash. In a surprising turn of events, Worthy toppled Usain Bolt’s record. He ran a 40m dash clocking just 4.21s. This was just under what Bolt, the fastest man on the planet, boasts of. The Jamaican’s 40m dash record stood at 4.22s, which now remains shattered.
