In an exclusive interview with Rori Dunk, Fred Kerley shared his insights about track and field rivalries. Rori posted a glimpse of this interview on his official Twitter account with the caption, “I spoke to Fred Kerley (@fkerley99) about rivalries in today’s track and field scene. He pointed out that it’s not the same as @usainbolt vs. @TysonLGay @usainbolt vs @justingatlin@ MJGoldvs @mauricegreene.”

Although Noah Lyles has been a dominant figure in the track and field world, and most people believe Noah’s recent statement, Fred has other views on the same topic. Interestingly, Fred pointed out Noah Lyles in his recent interview, and headlines across the internet mentioned Noah’s rivalries with other top sprinting contenders.

As Noah said, “For this year (2024) specifically, I want to solidify myself as the world’s fastest man in the 100m…I definitely have the American record in the 100m on my mind and even the world record.” he is aiming at several top contenders who stand above him. However, this is not the first time that Fred Kerley has been standing against Noah Lyles.

At the recently concluded World Indoor Athletics Championships, Noah Lyles surprisingly was added to the 4x400m finals. The major reason for shockwaves throughout the track and field world was Noah’s inexperience in 400m despite having Kenny Bednarek in the lineup. Even though Noah posted an impressive time of 45.67 to become the fastest third leg at the race, he could not hand over the American team a win.

Consequently, this left Fred Kerley unhappy with the situation, as Noah Lyles was inexperienced. He voiced out his frustration at his X account by penning, “‘Y’all play favoritism like mf. Y’all like puppets. For sure, yes, men.” Eventually, the matter was solved, but it seems that Fred remained stagnant with his views about Noah.
