As the Paris Olympics 2024 is inching closer, Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman are en route to intensify their outdoor track and field battles. Just a few days back, Coleman was on his 200m outdoor tussle against the American and Jamaican competitors at the Miramar Invitational. However, the 3x world champion had to face a defeat to Kenneth Bednatek in the 200m event. Noah Lyles did not show up on that occasion. For his trademark 100m event competition, Noah has resorted to a fresh track and field occasion this time.

The cryptic announcement regarding the event has come from the reigning 100m world champion himself on social media. Now, after Coleman’s loss, spectators are eagerly anticipating Noah’s sprinting performance, making the track and field battle stunning to watch.

After a fateful finish in Florida Relays, Noah Lyles’ next outdoor track and field endeavor is set to begin in James G. Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, Florida. As added by floridagators. com, the Tom Jones Memorial, scheduled on April 12-13 will host Noah Lyles in the 100m dash event in the men’s category. This year, it is going to be the first 100m event for Noah Lyles. Last time, when he appeared on the same track in the 4x100m relay event in Florida Relays, he had to face a disheartening result in front of arch-rivals like Christian Coleman. So, this time, an additional effort would be put into place.

Moreover, Noah might gain motivation as well from his last year’s performance at Tom Jones Memorial. There, he claimed the top podium in the 100m event. That time, his competitors remained the Olympic champion Andre De Grasse and Joseph Fahnbulleh, the sprinter who decimated Noah in Florida Relays this year. Meanwhile, Noah will surely look up to decrease the clocking from last year’s 9.95 this time. Keeping in mind the aims he has set in the Paris Olympics, track and field fans could expect that from the 26-year-old champion sprinter.

The year is going to be more than impressive

After achieving the world-leading 60m indoor timing in the New Balance contest this year, Noah Lyles vouched to present a spectacle in the Olympic year. This spectacle is about to usurp all the existing track and field records in the men’s category. According to him, he claimed his three-peat in Budapest last year despite lacking good shape. But this time, things are different for Noah.

Rather, the 6x world champion believes that the 2024 year already landed him in a wonderful spirit and shape. So why not go for an extra this time? Hinting at that, Noah Lyles stated, “This year I want to get four. And if I don’t get four, I am going after three world records.” That would mean less time than Usain Bolt’s world record time in the 100m event (9.58 seconds). On that estimate, the Tom Jones Memorial paves the stepping stone to it. So, things should take an interesting form out there.
