Noah Lyles gearing up for the fierce battle

Recently, Travis Miller, via his official Twitter account, provided a tantalizing glimpse into the ongoing World Indoor Championships in Scotland. The video showcased an intriguing matchup between three-time world champion Grant Holloway and Noah Lyles in a friendly 60-meter dash. Alongside the video, Travis penned, “Grant Holloway & Noah Lyles starts.”But why is Noah preparing for the 60-meter dash?

Drawing parallels with sprinting legend Usain Bolt, Noah often finds himself in a similar domain. Despite Bolt’s retirement back in 2017 from his sporting career, his unmatched records of 9.58 sec in 100m and 19.19 sec in 200 remain unchallenged. Interestingly, Bolt never officially competed in the 60m dash, but his staggering 6.31 sec spilled during the 100 m world record run clinched him second on the all-time list for runners.

This shared pursuit underscores the common ground between legends Lyles and Bolt. Both primarily known for their prowess in longer distances, have encountered challenges transitioning into shorter sprints. The demands of explosive acceleration at the start have proved to be a formidable obstacle not only for Bolt but also for Lyles.

However, just like Bolt, Noah has also improved his sprinting skills. Last year at the World championships in Budapest, Noah’s efforts paid him off as gold alongside 200m and relay titles he accomplished in the following week. In addition to this, Noah has also hit the 60m dash hard, dropping his personal best from 6.55 to 6.43 at US Nationals.

But none of these numbers guarantees a gold medal in Glasgow. The major reason behind this is the top contenders participating alongside Noah, including world record holder Coleman with 6.34 seconds and Ackeem Blake. Now the question is, will Noah be able to overcome intense pressure?
