Finally, the countdown for almost two years has come to an end as the US Olympic marathon trial is underway in Orlando. The qualification standard was set at 2:18:00 for men. On the other hand, for women, the qualifying standard was kept at 2:37:00. These two timings were bound to the full marathon. For the half marathon, the men’s category had to claim the race at 63:00 and for women, it was 72:00. However, the timings were way ahead of the international qualifications. And that’s what jeopardized the qualification scenario, for a bit.

As of now, the men’s category will send two standouts to the final berth. However, for the women’s category, the number is set at full quota i. e. in 3. So without further ado, let’s catch up with the live moment. With runners already commencing rapid strides, there’s a lot in the offing now.

Men’s category:

It has already started.

In the men’s category, T. Brown has gained pace in early motion.

C Young is just behind him with his heart out, that too, in the early part of the race.

The bravado of Conner Mantz faced an early turmoil as he missed out on catching the water bottle. However, now it looks all in grasp.

Now, A. Davidson is inflicting his moves as he has toppled T.Brown from the top position.

Conner Mantz is gaining pace and already carrying his fluid bottle right now. The qualifying time-holder seems to be in serious business right now.  Even he’s not bothering with his nickname “Chicken Legs” right now from the commentators.

The temperature is already increasing. As Scott Fauble dictated, till now the weather is clear, but giving sweats to the sprinters. But for Scott, the situation does not seem to be good as the sprinter has taken a break from the track.

Now the fight is between Z. Panning and E. Kibet for the top two positions.

Galen Rupp is in fifth position right now.

Eventually, the mayor of Orlando couldn’t hold himself from sharing his feelings on the big occasion. He’s on the live camera now.

Zack Panning from Indiana is still shining, as Mantz is yet to catch him from behind.

Now, Mekonen is gaining the blue as he topples Mantz from 2nd position. The sprinters are aiming at the emphatic target of 2:11:30.

Mekonen is losing air now as Panning claims the top run again, keeping Mantz in the second position.

Galen Rupp is in the 8th position right now. The 2x Olympic medalist is yet another marathon trial and seeing his favorite track and field affair.

The men have already covered the 17.5 miles of distance in almost 1:30:00 timing. The speed is unmatched right now, but not at the par with the international qualifying standard.

Clayton Young is again in the top-3, with his pal, Conner Mantz.

Zach Panning is catching the qualifying speed right now. Remember, if both Mantz and Young qualify today, then there will be a window for the third entry in the list of ticket-earners.

Mantz is showing brotherly love to his training mate, Clayton Young, while Panning is trying hard to stay ahead of the marathon-mates.

The temperature is crossing seven degrees, and the sprinters are not minding that. For Conner Mantz, the schedule is heavy as last November, he went through an injury scare. But here he is now, doing what he’s famous for.

Zach Panning is losing his steps as he has slipped into the third position right now. Utah brothers are now leading the pack.

Clayton Young is leading the pack right now.

Now the Utah brothers are up against themselves as there’s no one to give them a hard time on the track. Clayton has crafted it well so far as he’s blocking Mantz’s route deliberately. The race is just a matter of half a mile.

Conner Mantz takes the crown of winner while Clayton Young gains the second position.

Women’s category:

it is on the card now.

Sara Hall is evading her constraints and gaining her pace early.

Sara Hall keeps pushing and edging out her opponents. Remember, she’s already 40 years old.

It is Sara Hall’s 8th Olympic trial in Stars and Stripes and the veteran is giving a run for money to every opponent who is coming forward.

Even the defending champion, Aliphine Tuliamuk, is not present in the top 10 right now.

Now, Sarah Hall is showing some indications of slowing down as she is in 4th position right now.

Emily Sisson is showing her color lately as she joins the top 4 in the race right now.

The race is full of amazing facts. The women’s pack includes 22 mothers. Even the 10 track and field sprinting women have already crossed the much-discussed 30-year age boundary.

Keira D’Amato is already in the crowd of the top runners right now.

In the women’s field, the tussle is right now between Hall, Keefee, and Sisson.

Sara Hall’s performance is overhauling her opponents till now. As of now, her splits have remained: 5:32, 5:17, 5:19, 5:25, 5:31, 5:29.

Des Linden is showing some improvement from the other side. After six miles, she’s in 22nd place. But the larger form is her pace as it is showing the estimated time for her as  2:25:32.

Now, Sisson is showing her color as she is toppling the high-flying compatriots to reach the top position.

Again, Sara Hall is taking the challenge seriously. Again, she’s on her wings and in the top position.

Aliphine Tuliamuk is still stuttering with her position. But her speed is now on the increase. She’s just 23 seconds behind the lead pack of 13 sprinters in the women’s field right now.

O’Keefee is on the move now. While Sara Hall and O’Amato are following her. Fiona O’Keefee is showing her “born marathoner” hue to humble the legends coming from behind.

Emily Sisson is now lurking from behind, even so, from the 8th position.

Lindwurm is showing the mindset of a champion right now as she is already ahead of Sarah Hall in the race.

Sara Hall is out from the top 3 pack now as K.D.Amato is taking her revenge, pushing the veteran away.

Flanagan is moving ahead. From the 10th position, she is right now ahead of Sisson, in the 6th position.

Flanagan is in the top-3 now. That rise should go into history. A few laps ago, she was at 10th. But now, she is ahead of the legend, Sarah Hall.

Now, the pack has come down to the number 9, keeping the paces up. But remember, they are not stopping right now, without caring about any water station or break. Now, they’re in the serious business.

Saina has entered the top-3 right now, pushing Flanagan to the 8th position.

Fiona O’Keefee is in the top position right now while Sarah Hall is just behind. Moreover, it is O’Keefe’s first marathon, and she’s taking her chance against the household marathon name of America.

23-year-old Fiona O’Keefee is still in the top position, leading the pack after completing the 18 miles of the Olympic marathon trial.

Emily Sisson is now in the second position right now, but way behind O’keefee.

Jenny Simpson, the American legend in middle-distance running, has retired just a few moments ago.

Sara Hall is causing heartbreaks as the veteran is losing her speed. Right now, she’s in 4th position.

Fiona O’keefee is already out of reach. Sisson is trying to get the runner-up position right now.

Now the time has come to just between O’Keefee and Sissson. However, Sisson needs divine help now to cross the 23-year-old sprinter now.

Emily Sisson has kept the second position and the Olympic berth to her for the marathon in Stars and Stripes in the French metropolis.
