Sha’Carri Richardson‘s road to her athletics glory hasn’t been an easy one. And yet at merely 23 years old, she still has a long way ahead of her. While her journey started off strongly at the NCAA Division I championships by making a new collegiate record, she soon faced hurdles along the way. Most recently, her victory at the Doha Diamond League put her in the driver’s seat for any and every upcoming competition. It also rallied her fans right by her side. But the seeds of love amidst her fans were sown with her performance at the 4×100 meter Texas Relay last month.

Sha’Carri Richardson looked her personal best at the Texas Relay last month. Coming back from a string of controversies that had her face backlash from the fans, it spoke a great deal about her zeal and commitment to change and do better.

Sha’Carri Richardson recently shared a video on her YouTube page detailing her experiences in Austin, Texas last month. She, along with some of the finest track and field athletes in America participated in the 4×100 meters relay in Texas. The Dallas-born runner didn’t win the race, missing out on the gold medal to her rival Abby Steiner by the barest margin. But the fans were in for an enthralling spectacle at the Mike Myers stadium.

Richardson came 2nd with her team, The USA Stars. They finished the relay in 42.10 seconds, which was a meager 0.35 seconds behind 41.75 seconds, the time The USA Gold team took to win the race. Abby Steiner put on a fantastic display in the second leg of the race, clocking in at 9.94 seconds. But Richardson’s efforts were commendable too.

This was the beginning of the rise of Richardson this year. She then went on to win the Miramar Invitational in Florida, her first of the 2023 season. Her recent victory at the 100m race in Doha where she clocked 10.76 seconds, breaking the previous record of late Towi Bowie at 10.80, has her fans going gaga over her.

“Watching the future GOAT in real time.. a lot of hard work and grind ahead but you heard it here first Win or lose, we’re behind you!” said a fan who clearly believes Richardson has a long and illustrious career ahead of her.

“I love this! Soooo many people threw dirt on my girl, but she’s focused and going to let her talent speak against all the venom that was spit in her direction”. From being banned from Tokyo Olympics 2020 to being asked to leave off an American Airlines flight to facing hatred online, Sha’Carri Richardson had truly been through a lot. Now she has an opportunity to prove them wrong.
