After the success of the Tokyo Olympics, Yulimar Rojas had the responsibility to repeat the same in Paris. The Venezuelan track and field legend earned her country the rare distinction of an Olympic gold medal. Her gold medal from the triple jump event at the Budapest World Athletics Championship increased the expectation from her. However, La Reina Del Triple Salto will not be able to justify that in the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024.

With the long post, the bedridden triple-jump champion added, “It is with great pain and sadness that I want to tell you that while I was training, I fell on the descent from a jump. I had intense pain that was diagnosed as an injury to my left Achilles tendon.”

Simultaneously, Rojas dropped the news of her absence from the Paris Olympics schedule. “My heart is broken and I feel so much sadness. I want to apologize for not being able to represent you in Paris 2024.” Soon, her trackmates and fans joined her on the IG post to add warmth to the situation.

Rojas is an athlete who had go through a lot coming from a humble family as she had once pointed out. But she battled those to reach the top. The backing out is definitely a heart-breaker as one fan expressed, “I’m sorry you’re having to go through this”. However, the fan’s wish has remained the same – to watch Yulimar Rojas in her old avatar shortly.

In the meantime, several more athletes joined the situation to share their mourning on IG. Another triple jumper luminary, Keila Da Silva Costa, commented “Good recovery champ! Hero’s bleed too but they do recover fast”. Both the athletes Oscar Husillos and Antonio Diaz counted on Yulimar Rojas’ fighting spirit to come out stronger from the present situation. Moreover, drawing inspiration from Star Wars, Antonio Diaz penned, “Yuli Force”. These align with what Rojas had once said, “You can achieve anything. There is nothing you can’t accomplish if you push for it.” Drop your wishes also in the comments section.
