The Glasgow Indoor Championship received a flurry of praise being the optimum starter of the Paris Olympics in 2024. Several fresh faces utilized the platform to etch their landing into the elite track and field. One such is a British athlete who wasn’t in the elite race just a few months ago. But a spark of motivation guided her to earn big in Glasgow. The measure of that largeness unfolded to provide that British athlete a pro deal after a 4th place finish in 1500m indoor. Moreover, her Olympic dream also received a boost.

March 3 came into Georgia Bell’s life as a significant change. Despite coming 4th in the 1500m indoor final in Glasgow, praises kept pouring in for her. Now, the 30-year-old has received a morale boost-up from Nike. The American behemoth brand has announced its brand deal with Georgia Bell, making her a pro athlete. TRACKSTAA eventually updated the news in its X-post. “EXCLUSIVE signing alert [emoji] World Indoor 1500m finalist Georgia Bell has turned professional and signed with @Nike”, it jotted down.

She almost bid her adieu to track and field after her collegiate career in 2016. “Probably half the time I was in a boot injured and I never thought I would get back on a track again,” the former national indoor champion added. But a cycling routine and a park run habit during the Pandemic drove the 30-year-old to think about participating in the long run. After claiming the 4th place in Glasgow, Georgia Bell couldn’t hide her joy as a major disbelief loomed in her achievement. “Could I have imagined this a year ago? No way, not a chance. Even three months ago it wouldn’t have seemed possible” was her confession. However, before stepping into the Olympics practice regime, she has yet to decide on her event.

Eventually, her coaches, Jenny Meadows and Trevor Painter will take the last call on it. “Me, Trev, and Jen are trying to work out what distance athlete I am. There will be a bit of experimenting over the next few months,” she claimed. But as of now, either the 800m, 1500m, and 5000m are on the choice list. Notably, Meadows has a dazzling resume in the athletics realm.
