Halloween marks a remarkable season all across the globe where people enjoy dressing up as their favorite celebrities. While most people try to dress differently to stand out among others, some people prefer staying simple. Along the same lines, Olivia Pope of Scandal has been making headlines this Halloween. 

On 31st October this year, the actor transformed herself to fit into the clothes of track and Field legend Sha’Carri Richardson. She not only dressed like her but also dubbed herself like the legend on her TikTok handle, and later she posted pictures on Instagram. 

Kerry Washington’s Halloween Costume

In an Instagram post by Kerry Washington, it was captioned as, “ It’s Sha’Kerry Happy Halloween!”. Kerry Washington, decided to transform into the legendary Track and Field star this Halloween.

While dressing up like Sha’Carri, the actress kept attention to the details and showed up in a makeshift version of Sha’Carri’s Nike upper and navy swimsuit bottoms. Meanwhile, she wore an Olympic Team Trials racing bib with bold ink Washington made at home.

The costume was identical to the outfit women by Richardson in 2020 while accomplishing gold at the 100-meter race. In addition to this, Washington also copied the signature hairstyle of Richardson by wearing a fiery orange hair wig and styling it up in a ponytail.

Further, she also channels the Sha’Carri by adding long nails, tattoos, necklaces and sweatbands around the hairline. More so, Washington not only copied the sprinter’s persona but she also dubbed Sha’Carri Richardson’s speech from 2021.

Washington, after completing her look, showed it off by lip-synching Richardson’s interviews. While dubbing Sha’Carri, Kelly Washington said, “I’m still that girl, but I’m better. I’m still that girl, but I’m stronger. I’m still that girl, but I’m wiser. So I had to shed the old and present the new.”

The primary reason for mentioning “shed the old and present the new” was in line with Richardson’s controversy back in 2021. However, Richardson made a remarkable comeback on track and field this year. 

Richardson not only wrapped her comeback season but also clinched the 2023 World Athletics championships title in Budapest. Since Washington is an activist, opting for a track and field legend, Sha’Carri is the best inspiration. Overall, Sha’Kerry’s transformation and Sha’Carri’s performance were exceptional this season.
