Fans reacted to the unequaled spirit of this granny, who will run on marathon

Bonnie Cochran Bence is a retired teacher who found his love for the sport at the age of 61. Notably, it was her sons who inspired her and helped her with her training. There was also another motivation for her; that was to follow her father’s legacy. Reportedly, her father, Bob Cochran was a golf enthusiast who worked for the Special Olympics, and Bonnie, with her children, wanted to hold on to that tradition.

She has been through 33 marathons for the past 17 years, among which 15 were in Boston. In fact, on her first game in 2006, the sprinter finished at 2.07, winning her age group by 30 minutes. This indeed worked as a driving force for Bonnie who wanted to push it forward. This year would be her 16th consecutive run for the Boston games participating as a team.

A Facebook page named Runner’s World recently posted a picture of the sprinter on Facebook.
