Track and field champion Allyson Felix also congratulated the legend, Serena Willams. The Olympic icon herself gave birth to her daughter Camyrn in 2018 after surviving a traumatic pregnancy. As during her pregnancy, she was diagnosed with preeclampsia, causing her blood pressure to rise. The 32-week pregnant Felix had to give birth to her premature daughter through an emergency c-section. After this traumatic event, Felix has gained a new perspective towards athletes like Serena Williams who chose to both pursue their passion and grow their family.

Serena Williams has welcomed another life. On August 23, the athlete announced the birth of her second daughter with her husband, co-founder of Reddit Alexis Ohanian. The athlete posted a heartwarming family photo while revealing the name of the baby in the caption, “Adira River Ohanian.” In the picture, Serena Williams is seen holding her newborn in one arm while wrapping her other arm around her elder daughter, Olympia. While Alexys Ohanian was seen gushing over his family.

According to the athlete, the billion-dollar company wanted to reduce her pay by 70% after the athlete’s pregnancy. After cutting ties with Nike, an Olympic athlete, while highlighting the capabilities of female athletes, stated, ‘I think we’re seeing so many incredible examples of women who are having the best performance of their lives after becoming mothers.”
