“They’ll Get Banned”: World Athletics President Subtly Slams Olympic Stars In Hopes Of Enhanced Games

The Enhanced Games or the E+ games have made quite a buzz recently. However, during a presser recently, World Athletics President Seb Coe has given a strong message against it. With the advent of the enhanced games, where there will be no drug testing, several athletes expressed their interest. Seb Coe was very particular in mentioning that such an action would lead to a ban.
Seb Coe calls enhanced games “moronic”
Ahead of the Olympics, while the preparations are in full swing, Seb Coe appeared for a media update. In the press conference, he was asked about the probability of athletes trying their luck at the E+ games. Visibly irritated, Coe stated, “If anybody is moronic enough to feel that they can part in that…they’ll get banned.” He further went on to clarify that the bans would last for a long time and could even result in a lifetime suspension.

Enhanced Games are being touted as the next revolution in sports. Financed by top business tycoons, the tournament allows the athletes to take performance-enhancing drugs. According to their justification, almost 44% of the total athletes of the world use PEDs and thus, it should be made legal. The website even advertises the tournament as the ‘Olympics of the future’. Trying to attract eyeballs, the tournament also promises better and higher pay.

Looking at the financial prospect, several athletes competing at the Olympics have reportedly shown interest in the Enhanced Games. This news has been confirmed by none other than the founder of E+ Games, Aron D’Souza. He stated that athletes wanted to earn a fortune during their off-season when the Olympics were not around. Unfortunately, as exciting as it might sound, legends of the game have a negative connotation about the same.

Justin Gatlin shocked at the idea of Enhanced Games
In a recent interview with Tidal League, Justin Gatlin explored the realms of the Enhanced Games. The 42-year-old initially agreed that athletes might be able to record mind-boggling achievements. Gatlin stated that enhanced athletes could very well be capable of breaking Usain Bolt’s record by running 100m in 8.7 seconds. However, he also stressed the health hazards that followed heavy doping.

Dreaded by the idea, Gatlin stated, “And then they on their death bed you know what I mean or they on the ventilator because they sacrifice their health for it.” The Olympic legend said that sacrificing so much for the sake of sports is something that he can never support.
