The video showcases both of them sharing some words of appreciation for each other in Italian. Gamberi clutches the Italian flag in his hands, later draping it over both himself and Jacobs as they exchange heartfelt words while locked in an embrace beneath the flag.

Only a few individuals would know that these two once used to compete in jumping together, where they became such good friends. This was among some of the most poignant moments captured in the realm of track and field. In the 2020 Olympics, Jacobs stood atop the podium after he clocked an incredible time of 9.80 seconds and finished in the numero uno spot against the likes of Fred Kerley and Andre De Grasse. While Tamberi also clinched a gold for Italy in high jump during the same competition. These two athletes have been true trailblazers for Italy on the global stage, boasting an impressive collection of titles.

Two of the bests for Italy
Jacobs had never competed in the finals of a major event prior to the 2020 Olympics, and he also felt pressure to prove himself. In the semifinals of this event, Jacobs sent a statement after he broke the European record and finished the line in 9.84 seconds. In the finals, he was lined up against some much more experienced athletes like Fred Kerley from the United States and Andre Grasse from Canada, but he barely felt any pressure and grabbed the victory with a new European record. While Tamberi also clinched a gold in a dramatic turn of events when he and Mutaz Barshim of Qatar scaled the same finish of 2.37 meters.
