Stanley Grant Holloway. Remember that name, as it might make headlines in the 110m hurdles event at the Paris Olympics 2024. A Tokyo silver medalist, Holloway is apparently eyeing an even higher accolade at the Games this time around, and his performance at the U.S. Olympic Trials set this intention straight. In what was an exceptionally ‘fast’ performance, Holloway punched his ticket to Paris and clocked his own second-fastest time ever with a personal best of 12.81 seconds.
However, beyond the ambit of his professional life, Holloway appears to be a deeply family-oriented person. Skimming through his social media, one realizes how his parents seem an integral part of his life. Not just silently cheering, in fact, they look rather actively involved in his highs and lows. But who are they? Let’s find out.

Who is Grant Holloway’s father?
A Chesapeake, Virginia, native, Grant Holloway was born in 1997, and his father’s name is Stan Holloway. And it appears that his father Stan even shares the same passion as Grant, as he has been a high school football coach. Apparently, Holloway’s dad was one of his early track and field coaches at the Track 757 club, suggesting how the two share a knack for athletics. And during these early coaching sessions with his father, Holloway’s elder brother, Trey, would often accompany him, making it a sort of family ritual.

Therefore, a huge part of the credit for spearheading Holloway’s illustrious career goes to his dad. To date, he is often spotted in the stands in some of Holloway’s crucial competitions. For example, both his parents, along with Holloway’s partner and coach, were in attendance at Hayward Field on the 28th of June. In fact, they had a few words to share after witnessing their son put up one of the best shows of his career.
Unimaginable pride. That’s what perhaps filled every ounce of their hearts as they saw their boy hit a major milestone in Eugene. But even in the overwhelming moment, Holloway’s parents managed to share a few insights. Stan having been Grant Holloway’s coach before, cast light on the strategic aspect of things that helped Holloway achieve this feat. He said, “Practice like you’ve never won, and run like you’ve never lost. That’s always been the key. Consistency.” He further cites that as long as you’ve got consistency, good things are bound to happen. And he looks certain in his belief that Holloway ticked all of these boxes. While Grant’s father Stan helped learn nuances of track and field, his mother also supported him in his journey to Olympics, and beyond.
