However, fans were met with a sad announcement a year ago. Last summer, Allyson Felix officially concluded her illustrious athletic journey, retiring as the most decorated U.S. track and field Olympian. The retirement wasn’t abrupt; Felix had foreshadowed it in the preceding statements. Over this year, she collaborated, shared glimpses, and unveiled unfiltered truths post-retirement, capturing attention in the sports world.

Allyson Felix shares her truths

A whole year has passed since Allyson Felix retired and she is back with what she learned and felt in 2023. Along similar lines, the powerhouse took to her Instagram handle on December 21st and added a new post. The series has two images. One of Felix and another of a handwritten note that reads, “Change is hard – AF”.  This wasn’t it. The caption is a more elaborated version of Felix’s thoughts and lessons. It is, “Over a year into the post-competition journey and still figuring out all the things. Dropping my truths to help anyone else dealing with their own big changes. Add to my list”.

 The top three lessons point out, “change is hard * external validation doesn’t determine your worth * grieving is part of the process” while also stating “Your identity is not what you do”The journey wasn’t a cakewalk for Felix but she did it all. On this note, here is what Flix said to the world before she retired and went viral.

A mother, champion in the track world, collaborates. The star has given her best in life. However, the pre-retirement era was the first time she mentioned her uncertainty in a few aspects. On April 13 Felix wrote on her Instagram handle, “I have given everything I have to running and for the first time I’m not sure if I have anything left to give.”

She made a mark with gratitude, she added in the last. “I want to say goodbye and thank you to the sport and people who have helped shape me the only way I know how—with one last run”.
