The most accomplished, former Jamaican track and field athlete, Usain Bolt continues his legacy as the world record holder in the 100 metres, 200 metres, and 4 × 100 metres relay. No other athlete in the sprinting realm has even come close to matching his records since 2009, when he inspired the world by establishing the 9.58-second 100-meter run record at the Beijing Olympics. Bolt’s magnificent 19.19-second run record in the 200-meter at the Berlin Championship just set the goal for another athlete.

The current world champion in both the 100m and 200m events, Noah Lyles, is aiming to dethrone Usain Bolt in every possible way, as he recently promised to break his records at the upcoming Paris Olympics in 2024. After his proclamation, some fans have been showcasing their annoyance, while others are supporting him, as they stand divided over Lyles’ Olympic ambition.

Despite, having several accolades to his name, Noah Lyles is now preparing for another season as his confidence is quite sky-high. With an optimistic mindset, he is aiming to surpass past world records and etch his name in Olympic history. In a recent interview with CNN,  Noah Lyles gave a statement over Usain Bolt’s record. Track Spice took to its official X handle to share his revelation, captioning the post, “Noah Lyles spoke about Usain Bolt to CNN. “He’s the fastest man to ever do it, and soon it’ll be me. “

US virtuoso sprinter, Lyles presently holds the position of the the third-fastest time in history after setting a personal best of 19.31 seconds in the 200-meter international event. His current goal is to surpass the “GOAT” in track and field in order to solidify his legacy. However, his recent statement divided the internet.

Noah Lyles Upsets Jamaican Fans

After Noah Lyles’s recent announcement, one fan got annoyed, writing:

One of the other fans came forward to support the track “GOAT” Usain Bolt, penning the comment “He has zero chance of breaking the 100 WR, infact nobody currently competing will break 9.58…he’s also unlikely to replicate his 19.31 AR, which was a perfect race on the fastest track…Bolt smashed the 200 WR AFTER smashing the 100 WR, twice!! Noah’s not in that league.”

However, some have come to support Noah Lyles, as one of his believers commented “That’s his goal. Nothing is wrong with speaking it into reality”. While, Lyles’s other advocate wrote,Like him or not he certainly puts himself on the line.” Another fan also regarded Lyles’s statement, writing “Love the confidence.” It remains to be seen whether if Noah Lyles lives up to his grand promise.
