American shot put superstar Ryan Crouser has established a golden monument of himself in the track and field world. The 30-year-old has continuously shown improvement despite already being way ahead of his competitors. Moreover, his stellar gold medal-winning performance at the 2023 WAC also earned him the spot of a finalist for the Athlete of the Year Award.

Ryan Crouser was heavily lauded for outperforming everyone in Budapest despite being in severe pain due to blood clots in his calf. However, according to a social media upload, a previous achievement of his in Los Angeles heightened his stature even more. 

Ryan Crouser adds more to his accolade list

Ryan Crouser is a 2x back-to-back Olympic gold medalist in shot put. The 30-year-old successfully defended his 2022 world title in Budapest and is looking forward to doing the same in the upcoming Paris Olympics. USATF made a triumphant tweet via its official X account and that added to Crouser’s bragging rights. The tweet carried the caption, “RATIFIED WORLD RECORD. Ryan Crouser’s 23.56m/77-3.75 throw from the USATF Los Angeles Grand Prix is OFFICIALLY the shot put world record.” Interestingly, the news arrives when the result declaration of the Athlete of the Year Award lies just 18 days away.

Several great track and field athletes make up the finalists for the Athlete of the Year Award like Crouser. This includes US sprinter Noah Lyles, Swedish pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis, Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, and Kenyan marathon runner Kelvin Kiptum.
