Chloe is the defending Olympic gold medal champion; however, she doesn’t feel like it’s a big deal. Notably, the young American won her first gold at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Chloe Kim is treating Olympics as just another contest

After winning her first Olympic gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics, in Pyeongchang, Kim burst onto the scene. But, while the attention had its perk, Kim also went through some tough times with her mental health. Reaching success at such a young age took a toll on her. However, with her experience from then, now 21, Chloe is guarding herself against the pressure.

In a recent interview, Kim revealed she’s not going to play the game, without thinking about what she did in the past. “I don’t really get the whole defending thing. I don’t feel like I’m defending anything. I’m kind of just going and doing another contest. And hopefully, you know, the conditions are great and I’m able to land the run I want to,” Chloe said.

She further added, “It’s brought a lot of peace just knowing I can be myself 24/7 and not have to put on a front.”
