Keifer’s Olympic journey

Despite following long-time doctors in her family, she had a chance to participate in the foil events. Tokyo Games came out as a blessing to her. Not just once or twice; she won four Olympic Games. At the beginning of her career, she participated in London 2012 and got qualified too. At the age of 18, she astounded all her competitors, who didn’t have any expectations from her performance.

Earlier in 2016, she wanted to ace the Olympic games in Rio. Unfortunately, she couldn’t qualify for the event. but that never broke the confidence that the future doctor had. Kiefer focused on creating good mental and physical health, which will enable her to put in great performances in the upcoming games. Well, that’s exactly what happened after the wave of the pandemic; the player achieved her goal in the third championship.

Lee Kiefer’s fourth Olympic Games brought tears of joy to her eyes. Even though her retirement is nearing, she is showcasing more dedication to prove her worth in today’s game arena. The Olympic women’s foil championship that took place in Tokyo in 2020 has taught her to balance the extreme training and the degree of being a prestigious doctor. With a very promising future as a physician, the 29-year-old is preparing for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

From doctor to defender!

Talking about a breakage in her career, the athlete faced the loss of her long-time coach and family friend. Anthony ?Buckie? Leach was a close mentor who passed away in August and acted as a reminder that life is unpredictable and each one of us needs to hold on to our close ones. The harsh incident taught her to be mentally strong, which also reflected incredibly in her performance.

Gerek Meinhardt, her husband, is a fellow member of Team USA and has secured Olympic medals along the way. Now fans are eagerly waiting to see them perform skillfully at the Pan-Am Games, which are going to occur in Santiago.
