American soccer legend Megan Rapinoe is a known face on the soccer field. She is the captain of the OL Reign of the National Women’s Soccer League and the United States Women’s National Team. Known for her exceptional soccer skills, Rapinoe never fails to impress her fans on and off the field.

Megan knows to grab the limelight. Despite ex-President Trump’s tweets criticizing her, Megan went ahead in creating history. She cemented her place in sports history by winning the prestigious Golden Boot and Golden Ball at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Megan never shies away
Megan is known for expressing herself. Having traveled the world from a young age, Megan inculcated a more diverse worldview. During the elections, she could not help but question her parents. “Are you sure you’re conservative? I know you’re voting that way, but I think you’re ticking the wrong box.”

During Trump’s presidency, Megan emerged as one of his strong critics. Megan shared that she grew up in a very open environment. Both her parents were hardworking. They would cook, pick them up, drive them, clean the house, and take good care of them.
Having a diverse set of opinions is acceptable. Megan clarifies her stand by saying, “Excepting white nationalists, I don’t think that people who voted for Trump are bad.” She further adds, “I got the ability to be whoever I wanted to be. I feel uniquely American in that way.”

Megan Rapinoe talks about what impacted her life
Growing up in a household where, according to Megan, the “gender roles” were equal was a blessing for her. A proud daughter of two hardworking parents, Megan’s mother worked the night as a waitress while her father took up a day’s job as a construction worker.

The little girl from Redding grew up to become strong and independent only because, as she quotes, “because of my parents and their friends and the neighbors I grew up with.” She expresses her gratitude, saying, “I’m in them, and they’re in me.”
