NWSL star Megan Rapinoe has always been in the headlines for her charisma on and off the field. Megan revealed that the engagement turned out exceptionally well, but she did not have a plan to go about it. She was planning to propose to Sue for a couple of months but when it came down to the ultimate moment, she did not know what to do. The soccer legend described the engagement to be very impromptu and abrupt.

Sharing intimate details of the proposal she said,” I didn’t have a special ring. I took one of the rings off my finger and gave it to Sue, and I didn’t know exactly when I was going to do it.“

Megan described the moment to be very spontaneous. “Just the perfect moment presented itself”, she said. All lot their friends from the sporting world as well as the film industry congratulated the couple. Notably, US President Joe Biden congratulated the couple on their engagement too. 

Megan Rapinoe and Sue’s relationship

Megan and Sue did not know about each other until the 2016 Summer Olympics. They crossed paths for the first time during a photo shoot for the national team. Their first interaction was not that good according to Rapinoe but Sue was pretty impressed by her. The couple started dating after a couple of months but kept their relationship private till early 2017.

Sue is a five-time Olympic Gold medalist. Megan often watches her games and supports the United States Women’s basketball team. They have been very supportive of each other. Sue supported Megan during her controversies and gave her the strength to cope with criticism. Being athletes, they both motivate each other to push their limits.
