The 2024 NCAA volleyball season promises to be an exciting one. The Florida Gators occupied the 19th position on the DI Women’s Volleyball Rankings at the end of 2023. But, the offseason witnessed the school’s laudable attempts at redemption. With a mighty recruitment effort that resulted in five talented players joining the team, the Gators were also celebrating the return of their strongest veterans.
After Elli McKissock’s celebratory announcement, Annie Cate Fitz is walking back to the Gatorade court. The Florida Gators could not hide their pleasure with Annie Fitz’s decision and proffered a new agenda for the upcoming year.

After Annie Cate Fitz announced her intention to stay back on the Gators’ roster, the team spared no time to make it official. On the Gators Volleyball X page, they posted an awe-inspiring albeit cryptic message in the form of a banner photo.
The picture accompanied the heartfelt message, “The return of AC”. The text on the banner photo highlighted Annie Cate Fitz’s loyalty and devotion to the Gators’ teammates.

Annie Cate Fitz did not like how her team ended the last season. Citing that she has “some unfinished business” to attend to, she has agreed to don the Gators jersey for one more year. She had bought into the team’s conviction to overturn the current status quo in the DI Volleyball rankings and emerge as one of the winningest teams next season. She is not alone; a group of dazzling compadres have also joined the mission.

New recruits join Annie Cate Fitz
Recently, the Florida Gators inspired hope in the fans by announcing the results of their previously tepid recruitment drive. The situation took a rapid turn as five legendary volleyball players agreed to transfer to Florida for the upcoming season. Among the five new recruits, the excitement stemmed majorly from the transfer notice of UNLV star Isabel Martin. The remaining four are no less impressive, as each one has proven their mettle on the court.

Alec Rothe, Taylor Parks, Lauren Harden, and Jaela August are the remaining new faces of the star-studded Gators pack. Mary Wise was elated with the uncanny developments and said, “We are thrilled with the highly-talented players and proven winners this class brings us. No doubt they will leave their mark on Gator VB just as each one of them did with their own high school program”. Now, we will have to wait to see if the Gators can fulfill their bold mission in 2024.
