Since the beginning of the NCAA Tournament this season, two participating Division 1 NCAA women’s volleyball teams have been under the spotlight- Nebraska Huskers and Wisconsin Badgers. Interestingly, spectators’ eyes always seek the Huskers and Badgers’ enthralling showdown on the court. Both teams ensure that the opponent is on its knees when they come on the court.

Along the same lines, Nebraska is seeking redemption from the Wisconsin Badgers as the team was defeated in the concluding Big Ten match this season. Fortunately, Nebraska and Wisconsin can secure a berth in the NCAA semifinals this season after eliminating the opponents’ teams. But this is not the only reason for Nebraska’s celebration.

Extending the coaching contract

Soon after the Huskers made it to the top-4 roster, Nebraska not only celebrated its incredible winning spree but also expressed its elation on the commendable guidance given to the team by the coaches Jaylen Reyes and Kelly Hunter. Interestingly, as both the coaches extended their contracts with the team, Huskers clinched another reason for celebration.

Sharing the exciting news with their fandom, Nebraska Volleyball took to its X handle and penned, “The best of the best are right here in Lincoln. Jaylen_Reyes2 & KellyHunter03 have signed contract extensions as Husker Assistant Coaches!“.

Jaylen Reyes has been an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Nebraska Huskers for five years. Eventually, he helped the Huskers to the NCAA runner-up finish while welcoming right new comments on the team.

On the other hand, Kelly Hunter is a junior to Jaylen Reyes as an assistant coach. However, she spent more seasons with the Nebraska Huskers as a staff member, volunteer coach, and graduate assistant. Prior to her coaching promotion in 2021, Kelly was a three-time All-American Husker and two-time National champion. Kelly’s appearance has made the team finish at the No. 2 final ranking and a national runner-up.

Interestingly, Kelly Hunter and Jaylen Reyes are among the best coaches on the Nebraska Huskers volleyball team. Their coaching assistance has made the team achieve greater heights. Therefore, their extensions as assistant coaches are required for Husker’s exceptional performances in the future. 

However, these signed contract extensions for assistant coaches are not the only triumph celebrated by Nebraska Huskers. Recently, the team made it to the top 4 at the NCAA Volleyball Tournament.

Gearing up for semifinal showdown: Nebraska vs. Pittsburgh

Nebraska has always been the center of attraction at every volleyball tournament. With its exceptional gameplay and highly skilled players, the team has managed to clinch various titles this season. Now, Huskers are heading towards the semifinal showdown at the NCAA Volleyball tournament this season.

After trouncing Arkansas Razorbacks, Nebraska has made it to the top 4 NCAA showdown. The teams will lock horns with Pittsburgh Volleyball this Thursday to secure a berth at the Final NCAA showdown. Will the Nebraska Huskers be able to take redemption from the Wisconsin Badgers in the NCAA Semifinals this season?
