The trade mill has been buzzing non-stop in the off-season after the conclusion of the 2023 NCAA Women’s Volleyball season. While several high-profile trades occurred this time, one of the few that stood out the most was that of Taylor Landfair. Despite several programs making attractive offers to the outside hitter, Landfair chose to join the Nebraska Huskers.

The ex-Minnesota player will be contributing to the attack of the Nebraska Huskers and strengthen John Cook’s offensive arsenal. While the Husker Nation is very ecstatic about her joining, this was a very bold decision for Landfair. Interestingly, a social media post showcased her thoughts on her bold decision to leave her former team after three long years.

Looking forward to joining the Nebraska Huskers

Hail Varsity tweeted a video on X showcasing an interview with Taylor Landfair. The interviewer asked Landfair about her thoughts on joining a program as competitive as the Nebraska Huskers. To this, the outside hitter said, “I’m so excited because I feel like I thrive in more competitive environments.

She also noted, “I’m really excited to be able to just compete really hard with a bunch of other talented girls. And I’m really excited to be pushed and motivated.” Taylor Landfair also mentioned that she has already visited the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and met with the Nebraska Huskers players.

She noted, “A really good family environment because I already got that kind of vibe when I was there for my visit and I talked to Merritt and I talked to Lexi. They both said that their whole program really thrives on that teamwork.” While Landfair appreciated the chemistry shared by the Nebraska Huskers, she also appreciated how well the Husker Girls took the heartbreaking NCAA finals loss.

Taylor Landfair noted, “I think they (Nebraska Huskers) are such a young group of girls and just being able to take that loss, whether they did and still they’re very respectful and they just kind of went about it as like a learning experience and now they’re going to go back in the gym, work twice as hard and then go back and try and win another national championship.”

While the Nebraska Huskers failed to capitalize on their near-flawless season in 2023, they are now stronger with the addition of Landfair.
