After a losing streak of three matches, South Dakota State’s volleyball team ended last season by emerging victorious at the showdown against opponent North Dakota, where one of the key players accumulated 6 digs 11 assists, and two kills to clinch 3-0. Even though Jack Rabbits was not exceptional last season, the team is showing continuous improvement with the help of its roaster.

However, this would not be the case next season. One of the key players of the team is reading the final chapter with the volleyball team. Despite achieving tremendous growth over the years, the team cannot stop themselves from bidding adieu to one of the three Academic All-District winners.

South Dakota Volleyball’s setter reading last chapter

Recently, Nebraska Huskers’ setter Bergen Reilly’s elder sister Raegan Reilly took to her Instagram and posted a couple of memories with friends along with a long, heartfelt message about her final year on the South Dakota State Volleyball team. She penned, “Next chapter! So excited for my final year of volleyball and grad school at Illinois!

Currently, Raegan Reilly is in the final year of eligibility, and next year, she will be graduating from the University, which also means that she will be taking farewell from her collegiate volleyball career. In 2022, Raegan has set a new program record for single-season assists in the current scoring era with 1,307 assists in her sophomore campaign.

Besides this, she was also featured in Academic All-District, Summit League Commissioner’s list for Academic Excellence, and Academic Honor Roll accommodates clinched last year. Interestingly, her volleyball skills are something she has inherited from her parents. While Raegan is a final-year student, her sister is also following in her steps

How are Setter sisters dominating collegiate volleyball?

Soon after big sister Reagan opted for a collegiate volleyball career, Bergen Reilly decided to embark on a similar journey. Directly after this, Reagan got a spot on the Nebraska Huskers’ team as a setter. Currently, Bergen is in the first year of eligibility and is considered among the best players on time.

Bergen boasts a stellar record with a season-high five kills, 54 assists, 17 digs, and 7 points as a part of the Nebraska Huskers. However, this is not Bergen’s biggest achievement. Before joining Nebraska Huskers, Bergen featured gold with the US Girls U19 team at the Pan American Tournament 2022.

While Bergen will be entering the second year of her collegiate volleyball career, Raegan will be on her last. Even though Raegan made an official announcement about her final chapter, the business economics student has yet to confirm what she will pursue next.
