“I wanted to go somewhere that felt like home and I knew from the beginning that Nebraska definitely had that feeling for me.” This statement was made by the newest recruit of Nebraska Huskers Volleyball, Skyler Pierce. Interestingly, the outside hitter has finally arrived at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln now and has even more things to say.

Skyler Pierce was one of the top draws from NCAA Volleyball’s class of 2024 recruits. Nebraska Huskers HC extended an offer to Pierce after witnessing her skills. However, the high schooler had already made up her mind about joining Nebraska. In fact, a new social media post showcased Pierce shedding light on the real reasons why she became a Husker.

Skyler Pierce on why Nebraska Huskers Volleyball stood out for her

Hail Varsity, a Husker Nation Radio channel recently added a video to its official X account. The video displayed a brief clipping of an interview Skyler Pierce appeared for with the Nebraska Huskers radio show. The tweet carried the caption, “Freshman OH @SkyPierce21 is officially in Lincoln! @AnaBellMedia caught up with one of the newest additions to Nebraska volleyball. #Huskers | #GBR.”

The interviewer asked the outside hitter several questions including what made her join the Nebraska Huskers. Answering her question, Pierce said, “The big thing that stood out was that I knew I was going to have to work really hard and they were going to push me to become the best athlete that I wanted to be.”

She further added, “So I knew that was key players and coaches that I wanted to surround myself with. So that was a big part in choosing Nebraska and just the fans, the facilities.” While these were the specifics of why she chose to play for the Nebraska Huskers, she also mentioned why she has such a huge respect for the NCAA team.

Pierce reflects on the big contributions made by the Huskers

Although Skyler Pierce mentioned why she made the move to Nebraska, she also mentioned why she just couldn’t avoid doing so. She said, “I’m so thankful that I get the opportunity to be a part of a team that’s doing that for the world of volleyball and do that for girls’ sports in general.” She also spoke about the 2023 NCAA finals the Nebraska Huskers played against the Texas Longhorns.

“I knew that that’s going to be something that I wanted to be a part of and knowing that this team is totally capable of doing it. And knowing that I get to join them and be a part of this experience is a great opportunity,” said Pierce. With Skyler Pierce on the team, the Nebraska Huskers will fuel their offensive capabilities to complement their defensive superiority.
