As the Big Ten Volleyball championships are approaching its final destination, it has been making waves on social media. The tournament not only offers exceptional play on the volleyball court but also provides ample opportunities for participating teams to show their caliber. Therefore, participating teams are leaving no stone unturned to stand atop the podium.

Similarly, Penn State’s volleyball team has passed with flying colors in a recent showdown with Michigan’s volleyball team. It not only emerged victorious but seemed to have taken a redemption of prior defeat. On the 28th of last month, Penn State lost a match to its opponent 2-3 in the game played at Michigan State.

From Falling Short to Emerging Victorious

In a recent enthralling match team, Penn State entered the arena to battle against the opponent of Michigan. Even though it was a fierce battle, team Penn State made it difficult for the opponent team to survive till the end. Consecutively, team Penn State made it to clinch the showdown with a remarkable 3-0 score. A tweet by Michigan Volleyball wrote mentioning the outcome, “Michigan falls in three sets to #19 Penn State.”

The remarkable match added to the winning streak of Penn State marked 23-25, 22-25, 13-25 over the three sets. While Penn State emerged victorious, Michigan’s team gave them a tough competition in the first two sets. However, despite that, team Michigan lost all hope and was only able to secure 13 points in the final set despite putting in all efforts. It was a sweet revenge for Penn State after Michigan knocked them off 3-2 in the October 28 match on Michigan’s home ground. But where would teams Penn State and Michigan stand now at the Big Ten Volleyball Championships?

How lies the way ahead?

With a recent win against team Michigan, Penn State’s volleyball team made it to the 3rd rank in the championship, ranking below Nebraska and Wisconsin. Now, the team Penn State marks a 10-5 winning streak in the championships. On the other hand, team Michigan ranks at the 12th position in the same rankings with a 4-11 winning streak.

While team Penn State is already ready to compete with the top two contenders, team Michigan must re-analyse its game plan to grab more points in the tournament. In the next match Penn state faces the invincible Wisconsin. It will be interesting to watch how they perform after this sweeping win. Meanwhile, Michigan again faces Penn State on November 17th. Will they be able to take it back from Penn State?
