The USA men’s volleyball team is on a dream run at FIVB Road to Paris Volleyball Qualifiers. The event that commenced on September 30 watched the USA thrashing every team coming before them. With this unbeatable performance, they were already sitting on top of the Pool B table. On their way to the top, they maintained a winning streak of five matches. Thrashing one of the toughest opponents, Slovenia days before, they went into the sixth match of pool B with their morale high.

The battle between the USA and Serbia was a mere one-sided affair as America took leads only early in the first two sets. The victory of the USA was majorly due to its key players who outplayed the Serbian team in all scoring elements. Notably, the Middle Blocker Maxwell Holt made four aces and raised two kills towards a match-high of the day at 13 points. Nonetheless, Jeffrey Jendrvk and Matt Anderson added 11 points with 2 aces each. Meanwhile, Outside hitter Aaron Russel also managed to score 10.

In an exclusive interview with Volleyball World, USA’s head coach, John Speraw said, “I feel really good about this victory. I think one of the hardest parts about this job are the intensity and focus on getting qualified for the Olympic Games.” He added, “So in the back of your mind there is always that quest to make sure you have that opportunity at the end. So for us, to get past that is exciting; it’s a relief and I’m so happy and proud of the guys, because they’ve really had an outstanding tournament, steady the whole way through. It’s a well-deserved victory.”
