Her lift is also a new senior American snatch record!“

She is not only emerging victorious but is also shattering prior world records. Certainly, she set 81 kg Junior Pan American records as she lifted 111 kg and 114 kg in Santiago. But this is not the only reason to celebrate as the triumph is double this time because her lift is also the new senior American snatch record.

Olivia Reeves, competing in the 81 kg category, holds a previous record of a bronze medal at the 2023 IWF Championship. She also snatched 110 kg and made a new senior American Record of 138 Kg at the Junior National Championship. Reeve is an exceptionally talented weightlifter who is yet to unfold.

Although Reeves is among the top contenders on the plate of the USA’s team, she still needs to be qualified for the upcoming Paris Olympics. In an exclusive interview with the International Weightlifting Federation, U.S. director of coaching Mike Gattone said. “We’re cursed, and we’re blessed…We have two in each category fighting it out, and you can see what it does. In Cuba (at the last qualifier) Kate did better, and Olivia was crying, and this time it’s the other way around. They’re pushing the heck out of each other.”

Olivia Reeves is among the exceptionally talented weightlifters representing the USA in Pan American Games 2023. Even though Reeves is still yet to qualify for the Paris Olympics 2024, she accomplished a remarkable feat by adding another gold to the Tally of Team USA.
