As reported by BFMTV, the bag belonged to a 56-year-old engineer, an employee at the Paris City Hall. While describing the incident, the engineer stated that the theft occurred on a train between Gare Du Nord and Creil. The date and timing of the theft were confirmed to be approximately 6:30 pm local time on Monday.

Sharing further details, the 56-year-old victim said that the bag was kept in a compartment above his seat. Unfortunately, while he was about to board off the train, the engineer found the bag missing, much to his surprise. He went on to elaborate that a couple of USB sticks, along with his office laptop, were the majority of the contents in the bag.

Luckily, after a thorough investigation from the police, it was concluded that the stolen USB sticks did not contain security information. Instead, it had “notes related to traffic during the Olympic Games.” Leaving no stone unturned, the police department snapped every access point to the City computers by resetting the system. However, it seems as if the Olympics is out of danger as of now, as the thief has allegedly been arrested.
