Interestingly, while Summer Olympics has Simone, 16-year-old Alyson Liu has been named the ‘Simone Biles of figure skating’, a Winter Olympics sport.
Simone Biles of ‘figure skating’ set to conquer Beijing Olympics
American figure skater Alysa Liu was just five when started skating, as her father introduced her to the sport. Courtesy of her incredible talent at a young age, she became the youngest-ever US Women’s national champion at 13. Notably, she also won her second senior title at 14. Just like Simone Biles, Liu has also achieved many of the ”youngest athlete” or the ”first-ever” to do so records.

After watching her extraordinary performance, Winter Olympics medalist, Adam Rippon, drew similarities between Alysa Liu and Biles. Adam was also the first one to give her the title, “Simone Biles of figure skating.”
Further praising her skills, he said, “Alysa does things so easily, but if you’re an average viewer, you almost don’t appreciate how difficult and revolutionary the program that she’s putting out is.”
Alysa is competing at her maiden Olympics in Beijing next month and is the favorite to win the Olympic gold.

Alysa Liu had an adorable reaction to her comparison to the GOAT of gymnastics. Alysa said, “I have never heard of that before. That’s the first time. That’s like a really big honor because I love Simone Biles a lot!”

While considering her achievements and watching the links of her success to Biles, one must not burden the teenager with unrealistic expectations.
