Returning wrestling superstar AJ Ferrari recently got in trouble due to behavioral conduct after he won a match against an Iowa wrestler. While snapping in the heat of the moment is pretty common in combat sports, this particular outburst was bound to come with consequences. Especially when Ferrari wanted to join and become an Iowa wrestler himself.

What is AJ Ferrari doing right now?

According to a social media post by FloWrestling, AJ Ferrari has started contacting other wrestling programs as well. Moreover, he is also naming his price to join their team. While this may give the idea that Mr. Fast Twitch has less bargaining power, that isn’t the case. In fact, several wrestling programs would love to have the 2021 NCAA Champ on their team.

What remains to be seen is what happens to his potential partnership with the Iowa Hawkeyes. AJ Ferrari was very keen on joining the Hawkeyes and even fans saw this coming. Especially since AJ’s younger brother, Angelo Ferrari, is also supposed to don the black and gold singlet.

The fresh waves created by AJ Ferrari can also disrupt Angelo’s move to Iowa since the two were considered as a package. Although Mr. Fast Twitch has now become a true free agent, he needs to get on a team fast. Especially since nine weeks of the season have already elapsed.

A race against time for the 2021 NCAA Champ

The 2024 season of NCAA Wrestling is in its tenth week of action and AJ Ferrari has already lost several chances to compete. The season will see its end in March, after which, 2023 will also become a fallow year for the 2021 NCAA Champ. This will be the second race against time for the 197-pounder after he lost his previous race at OSU.

Ferrari was previously at Oklahoma State University and won the national championship as a freshman. He was projected as a great 2022 prospect as well, but was ruled out due to an injury. His team waited for him to get back in shape, but when he didn’t recover on time, he was removed from the OSU roster. Will AJ Ferrari be able to find a collegiate team for himself this season?
