A 20-year-old wrestling phenomenon from Bahrain leaves the world amazed. He has showcased an astounding show of physical strength and indomitable willpower. The new champion whose name is linked to victory in the field of Wrestling has achieved a remarkable feat at World Wrestling Championships 2023. 

However, what stands apart from all his accomplishments is his remarkable victory in the 97 kg class against two Olympic gold medalists at the World Wrestling Championships. He lost just three points in five matches and won Gold which he could have never imagined before.

Akhmed Tazhudinov stunned the world at World Championships 2023

Bahrain-born wrestler Akhmed Tazhudinov who was trained at the renowned Abdulrashid Sadulaev Wrestling Club, ascended to fame on the platform of World Championships this year. Unitedworldwrestling shared this amazing news with a post on Instagram, captioning it, “@tazhudinov.a97 🇧🇭 stunned the world by taking out two Olympic Champions and legends of the sport at 97KG.”

On 18 September, at the World Championships 2023, Tazhudinov set off for a spectacular journey that shook up the wrestling world. His first fight was against the famous US wrestler Kyle Snyder, a four-time World and Olympic Champion. Tazhudinov took down the undefeated Snyder at 11-0 in the quarterfinals. However, the real show was in store for us when Tazhudinov clashed with his former mentor, the famous Abdulrashid Sadulaev, another Olympic champion from the Russian team.

With more than 1 minute left on the clock, Sadulaev, either because of an injured neck or shoulder, gave the final victory to Tazhudinov at 9-2 in the semi-final. In the entire league, he only lost three points over 5 games, and his final record is 48-3 in the 97 kg category. The win confirmed Tazhudinov himself became a wrestling sensation after this glorious victory.
