Michigan Wolverines stand at No.12 as per the NCAA Coaches Poll collegiate wrestling team’s rankings released earlier this year. As the team is just steps away from making it to the top 10, the Wolverines have a heavy weight of expectations on their shoulders. However, the team shattered the hopes in a recent match against the Buckeyes, where the Wolverines were pinned off unexpectedly.

Michigan Wrestling to shake up its glory
Recently, the Michigan Wrestling team took it to their official Twitter account and posted a tweet about honoring the soldiers at its home ground on Friday in Crisler Center. Along with a few pictures posted, Michigan Wrestling penned, “Celebrating both our senior Wolverines and those who serve this Friday night.” The post also has the link for purchasing the tickets. Interestingly, the team will be honoring six senior-class wrestlers before the finale.

According to Michigan’s official website, the six wrestlers are Lucas Davison, Will Lewan, Austin Gomez, Shane Griffith, Bobby Striggow, and Michael DeAugustino. All six wrestlers are combined for the collection of 10 All-American titles accumulated by the wrestlers throughout their wrestling careers. Besides this, three among six features a nearly perfect dual record. Shane Griffith, competing at 174 pounds, is 7-0, Dylan Ragusin, at 133 pounds, is 5-0, and Austin, at 149 pounds, boasts 4-0 in duals. Despite all these, the Iowa Hawkeyes bring with it a tough challenge for Michigan on its home mat.

According to the ranking list released by Wolverines, Iowa Hawkeyes featured five contenders on its roaster who feature in the top 10.
