The 2023 season was one of a kind for the “All I see is gold” wrestler, Jordan Burroughs. This incredible spree was highlighted when Burroughs shed pounds to participate in the 74kg weight class at the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024. The six-time world champion and the 2012 Olympics gold medalist is preparing for the upcoming trials scheduled in April.

Along the same lines, Jordan Burroughs has been under the spotlight for many days, not for a recent matchup against any team or vigorous training regime. But the wrestler astounded his fandom by posting an intriguing NCAA question on his social media account.

Jordan Burroughs is known not only for his long list of accolades but also for his unfeigned perspectives. Recently, the NCAA Wrestling Committee released rankings of the collegiate wrestling teams. Soon after the release, Jordan Burroughs took it to his Twitter account and posted a burning question. 

He penned, “Wish current NCAA wrestling program is a sleeping giant?“. According to the recent rankings released by the NCAA Coaches Poll, Penn State has been placed at the first position, followed by the Iowa and Oklahoma State wrestling teams. 

Within a few minutes of posting the question on their Twitter account, Jordan Burroughs’ fandom grasped the opportunity and took it to the comment section, posting the names of their favorite collegiate wrestling teams along with a reason why they must be placed at the rank above given. 

Fans expressed a mixed set of answers

While some commentators were pointing out various teams’ names, one name was visible in most of the comments. Interestingly, most people penned Ohio State’s name along with the reason that they comprise young and talented youth on their team’s roster.

As the post accumulated the attention of thousands of fans, Jordan Burrough again posted a reply to his previous post. He penned, “When I say “sleeping giant” I mean a program that is underperforming as of late but with the right staff and culture could potentially be a Top 10 program.

In response to the fiery debates triggered after his previous post, the wrestler made everything clear about what he meant by sleeping giant.
