On the same note, the UWV (United World Wrestling) decision reshapes the narrative of the wrestling format for the much-awaited showdown in the French capital next year.

The changes have ignited a seismic transformation in the wrestling world. From the exclusion of gold-medal bouts to the introduction of a fresh structure promising a revolutionary chapter, the format received a warm welcome from the wrestling world.

The United World Wrestling revamped the format and seeds for the Mexico and Turkey qualifiers. Following this, on 14th November, USA wrestling shared the news through its X handle and penned, “The new format, set by United World @Wrestling, with four seeds and no gold-medal matches, will be used for the four 2024 Continental Olympic qualifiers (including the Pan American Qualifier in Mexico), as well as for the World Qualifier in Turkey.”

The omission of gold-medal bouts and the inclusion of four seeds in each weight class signal a paradigm shift.
