The Olympic national team qualifiers are just around the corner and Dake is ready to make his move. However, on reaching Paris, the Cornell alum might have to meet an old foe, who seems to have a few aces up his sleeves as well.

Zaurbek Sidakov is one of the world’s toughest wrestlers in the 74kg category. With one Olympics and three World Championships gold medals, Sidakov is a force to be reckoned with, and a recent social media clip shows the Russian falling back on a few traditional sources to enhance his strength.

Sidakov looking forward to the 2024 Paris Olympics with a special tea

In a post on Instagram by Wrestling Stars, Sidakov can be seen drinking a concoction that allegedly helps with the recovery process post-training. “Sidakov drinks his special drink after training“, reads the caption of the post, and fans can only guess what the esoteric mix contains. While Dake has previously emerged as an unconquerable obstacle for many stars on their way to the Olympics, it looks like Sidakov may find his inner beast in Paris.

Sidakov has qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games thanks to a gold-winning performance in Belgrade last year, at the World Championships. Interestingly enough, the Russian won the title after taking down Kyle Dake in the final matchup of the 74kg weight class.

Understandably, Dake will be looking for a shot at redemption after being forced to walk away from last year’s event with a silver. However, Sidakov’s potion might be just the thing that tilts the balance in his favor once again, a lucky charm of sorts. For the inquisitive, the post also claims that the potion is essentially a sort of natural tea that’s made with five different fruits. Thirst-quenching elixir aside, there is a thirst-satiating rivalry as well between these two wunderkinds.

Dake and Sirákov’s long tussle divulged

Dake’s rivalry with Sidakov grabbed center stage last September in Belgrade when fans scurried to speculate who would come out on top. While Sidakov mentioned he didn’t particularly like how his opponent refused to display sportsman spirit after the match, he didn’t let that get in his head and kept a hold of his nerves during the match.
