“That’s an NCAA-best 60 in a row for @carterstarocci as he pins Maryland’s Mason Stein today!” Renowned wrestling analyst Justin Basch made this tweet after Penn State Wrestling superstar Carter Starocci extended his unbeaten NCAA winning streak. This was another feather in the cap of the 3x NCAA Champion who recently surpassed previous leading matchwinner Spencer Lee.

Carter Starocci has looked sharp throughout the season for Penn State Wrestling and is currently the number-one ranked 174-pounder in the league. But, as the noise in support of Starocci grew louder, a previously sidelined fact has now come to light. Interestingly, the previously hidden fact has shaken Starocci’s standing.

There is no doubt that the Penn State Wrestling Superstar is a leader in the number of match wins. However, his leadership does not extend to the entirety of the NCAA league. Notably, the NCAA consists of many divisions, out of which, the 174-pounder belongs to Division 1 Wrestling. To hail all of the NCAA would mean to hail all of the NCAA divisions. While Starocci is effortlessly ahead of everyone in Division 1 in this regard, the Penn State Wrestling champ falls behind a Division 2 wrestler.

Robert Precin of North Central Cardinal is the true leader when it comes to the highest number of consecutive NCAA wins. The 133-pound wrestler is a senior and boasts a staggering 78-match win streak on his resume. Thus, he leaves Starocci behind by 18 wins. While Carter Starocci may not be an NCAA leader in terms of wins, he still stands a chance to become one of the best in the NCAA very soon. In fact, the entire roster of Penn State Wrestling is on the verge of becoming the greatest of all time.
