The Olympics are only five months away, and the team trials are shaping up to be the last big challenge that stands in the way for the country’s wrestling stars. With Penn State and NLWC icon David Taylor at the helm of things, the Olympic gold medalist is making sure to shoulder the responsibilities in style.

Three-time World Championships gold winner Taylor is among the most decorated wrestlers in the country of all time. With that, the burden that befalls him is understandably heavy and he’s leaving no stone unturned to make sure his physical prowesses are at the top of their game.

The road to Paris 2024 has high demands, and Taylor isn’t backing off

In a recent series of Instagram stories, Taylor could be seen in a fairly good mood as he spends time with his gym equipment ensuring his body is capable of making the long journey on the road to Paris. “Good morning!“, beamed a confident David before mentioning what has been the one constant thing on his mind for the last few days. “7 weeks to Olympic trials…Definitely woke up with a smile on his face“, grinned the “Magic Man”, underscoring how he’s looking forward to facing the best the USA has to offer in April in a venue that’s all too familiar to him.

We’re kind of in that final push to make this Olympic Team 2024“, mentioned the four-time Big Ten champion. In another short video clip in the same series of stories, “As I’ve gotten older, there’s more on my plate…I have to be more efficient with my time“, confessed the three-time US Open winner. He also mentioned that moving his training equipment to his basement helped him put more time into training so that his routine could see him make the most of his morning hours.

Taylor also shared another image of the snack that’s fulfilling his nutritional needs on the road to Paris. A hearty finger food made with eggs, bacon, sweet potatoes, and sausage is providing him with all the fuel for the long road ahead. And it has been quite the show of determination on Taylor’s part so far.

Only days ago, the Nittany Lions wrestler stated blatantly that he wishes to become the world’s greatest figure of the sport and won’t stop before achieving the status. He emphasized that he isn’t scared to back off from the challenges and will give everything he has to make it to the top of the mountain. Taylor was spotted in the gym and training hard to get back in shape at his own alma mater might end up as the biggest roadblock on his journey to Paris.
