Among them was the NCAA All-American and a recent title bearer of the USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week, presented by US Air Force Special Warfare, Nate Jackson. He clinched the gold in the 92kg category.

Nate Jackson battled a series of performances, emerging very commanding over each one of them. That led the NCAA Champion to earn the Golden Boot and the tournament’s Most Outstanding Wrestler as well. Here is a look back at his journey in the event.

Nate Jackson secured a pin in the latest Pan Am Championship
The two-time captain for the Hoosiers, Nate Jackson, stormed out of his comfort box this time. Opening his crusade with a massive double, Nate Jackson jumped over his Canadian and Mexican opponents to secure a pin. Spending a combined 4:31 on the mat between all his four matches, Jackson did not allow a single point against him during the championship. Nate Jackson was seen exercising a leg takedown into a leg lace roll on Tejvir Boal, a Canadian wrestler, and getting victorious with a 11-0 score. Another highlight moment of the Pan American Championship of the recent wrestling season was put up against Erwin Vargas, in which Nate Jackson managed to swiftly score a pin within a mere 54 seconds of the game. Jackson did not stop just here.

He continued his streak with a 10-0 victory over Cesar Ubico Estrada and by a straight fall in just 46 seconds against Jose Betancourt Kock of Puerto Rico. Thus, with four clear wins, this Pan American Championship paved a smooth way for him to enter into the 2024 Olympic Trials. However, this way was made on the paths of uncertainty and trials.

Paving his way out of struggles, to gracing the Olympic Trials
Thankful for where his 2024 journey led him, Nate Jackson lately took to his Instagram to pen a heartfelt note that wrote, “So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while.” This verse from the bible proves that, despite facing several challenges in his way, he has ultimately surpassed his expectations and is now on his way to the final destination – the 2024 Paris Olympics. The latest challenge was in the year 2021, which he faced at the Pan Am Championships.
Nate Jackson was falsely accused of doping. Jackson, back then, had failed a drug test, and the situation had resulted in a 4-year ban on the two-time All-American champion. Fortunately, so, the unfortunate times soon collapsed when it was declared wrong. And overcoming all his aversities since then, Nate Jackson today has proved his mettle by nearing his final destination in the Paris Olympic team, with grace.
