Invincible USA Men’s Volleyball Team Obliterates Turkey, Extending Undefeated Streak at 2024 Paris Olympics Qualifiers

The USA Men’s Volleyball team has their eyes set on the goal. They are ready to conquer the throne by competing and qualifying in the round of the 2024 Paris Olympic Qualifiers in Tokyo, Japan. This event started on the 30th of September and will run up to the 8th of October. This nine-day extravaganza is full of excitement and thrills as 8 teams will play in 7 matches in 9 days.

The US team has proved its invincible excellence by gearing a solid start. The team swept Egypt in its first battle with an excellent score of (25-20, 25-16, 25-19). Not only this, they also proved their worth and ability in the very next match with Finland. They with their strength and power dominated Finland by a score of (25-17, 25-14, 25-17) The great wins in these two matches have added glory to their name. The team did not stop there. In their third match, they displayed their prowess by downing Turkey.

The US Men’s volleyball team was ready to take up this challenge. The struggle against the Turkish squad was not an easy go. This match started on Oct. 3 at midnight. The US forces gained a victory against Turkey by 25-17, 26-28, 32-30, 25-20. The USA Volleyball on their official X handle posted this, “What a match! It wasn’t always pretty, but the U.S. Men (US flag) moved to 3-0 in the Road to Paris Olympic Qualifier with a 3-1 (25-17, 26-28, 32-30, 25-20) victory over Türkiye.”

Aaron Russell was on fire! He led the team to victory by fetching a whopping 25 points. He secured 20 kills, 2 blocks, and 3 aces. Also, it is a fact to note that Tukey stands in the 13th position in the world volleyball rankings. Winning this third combat with Turkey was very crucial for the US team as it will pave their way to the 2024 Paris Olympics. This match has made their journey more profitable and smooth. However, if we look at the previous two matches, it was spectacular to see the USA team performing so well.

The USA’s first two matches at the FIVB Road to 2024 Paris Olympics

The USA team under coach John Speraw performed well in their first match. They had a slow start, but eventually; they garnered their strength and skills. They performed their best with  40 kills, 5 blocks, and 8 aces. It is interesting to note that, for Egypt, it was their first match after the 2019 FIVB World Cup. To this, U.S. setter Micah Christenson said, “We were getting used to playing Egypt and also the new gym and the atmosphere,”

If we talk about the second match with Finland, the US team again collected victory in their powerful form and spirit. “Finland started off the tournament very well,” was the statement of the US head coach John Speraw. The USA team did a really good job of tacking with the skilled and disciplined team of Finland who had earlier defeated Egypt in their first match.

The USA team will play its further matches with Tunisia, Slovenia, Serbia, and Japan, respectively. But what is at stake? The glorious chance and a secured seat for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
