Seven-time world champion Sage Kimzey has recently made headlines for an unexpected action. The legendary bull rider, who had to take time away from the sport after suffering injuries, has returned. He usually rides in PRCA events, but he entered a rival organization’s bull riding tournament this time.
Unleash the Beast, popularly known as UTB, is a brand-new event that PBR is hosting. The new event at the professional bull riders’ practice is reasonably priced and open to riders of all skill levels. Many Rodeo fans wondered why Sage would bother competing in it because it is often much smaller than PBR events. Was Sage’s return to UTB after a lengthy absence successful?

Sage Kimzey, who is typically seen racing in PRCA championships, was seen making his debut at UTB, an event sponsored by PBR. Although it wasn’t unimaginable for the rodeo icon to participate in PBR competitions as he did in the past, the announcement that he would be competing in UTB caught his supporters off guard. Although UTB is by no means a minor competition, Sage seldom participates in such events.
Sage shared a video on his Instagram story in which he rode the bull “Gangster” at the UTB. According to his account, Mary Alvarez, a purportedly devoted admirer, uploaded the video with the remark “Making the 8 on his UTB debut.” She mentioned Sage and his wife, Alexis, whom she tagged in her post. As expected, Sage easily defeated Gangster in the opening round. He not only won the round with the greatest score but also paved the way to take first place in the UTB rankings.

Bullriding champ’s comeback
A champion like Sage playing in a comparatively lesser tournament than he typically competes in was a question for many. Fans have speculated that Sage was only getting warmed up for the major shows to come. This was only an invitation to the UTB, so the discussion may be postponed. Now that Sage has won, he plans to compete in the remainder of the UTB tournaments. He is now widely considered the best bet to win the UTB world championships because of his stellar performance.
