Bull Riding is one of the most popular sports in the country. Bull Riding rodeos are held in different parts of the country around the year and people flock to the rodeo in thousands to enjoy the athletics of the cowboys. The battle between the rider and the beast is what excites the most and besides the entertainment, it provides the young rodeos an opportunity to display their talent and hone their skill.

The Gem State is once again bringing the bull-riding fans a chance to enjoy the game after it announced the return of the bull-riding competition at Sandy Downs Arena. The news has excited the rodeo fans and are eager to watch the world-famous athletes participating and displaying their skills.

Bull Riding at Sandy Downs Arena

The bull riding event known as the “The Ultimate Bull Riding Battle” is returning to Idaho Falls, Sandy Downs Arena. This will be the sixth successful edition of the event that attracts thousands of bull riding fans from across the states. To attract more visitors and generate more excitement among the masses the organizers organized a unique event before the main eight-second riding event. The bulls who were younger and not able to bear the ride of a rider, were given a chance to compete in an event where a dummy was placed on their back and were left in the arena to buck off the dummy.

The judges give the score to the young bull who bucks off the dummy in 4 to 5 seconds. These events are an opportunity for the breeders to train and test their bulls. Speaking on the bulls one of the breeders said, “What we’re doing is we’re training our bulls to be calm and we want to see how they perform and see if they’re going to make the next step to getting a rider on him“. This is important for the breeder and these events help them in analyzing the progress of their bulls. The bulls are trained to buck and they either do it or don’t do it. The breeders therefore work on making them calm down and do spin and jump in a manner that they don’t hurt the rider in the future. The main competition is to start after this competition which is the main attraction of the ultimate bull riding battle.

The ultimate bull riding battle is a bull riding event organized every year for the past five years. This is the sixth year of the event which will have a mini bulls and riders event,  clowns scramble, and the main bull riding event. The event also has face painting and food and drink vendors for the public to enjoy.

This has been an event where world-class athletes and bulls have participated in the past. The winners of this event include the national rodeo qualifier Garrett Smith and professional bull rider final qualifier Kyler Oliver. This year the judges of the bull-riding event are Scott Breding and Sterling Lamb.

The bull-riding event holds a special place among the hearts of the people of the state and also represents the culture of the place. The return of the event for the sixth time proves the success and acceptability of the previous events.
