Dogs are known as the best friends of humans. It would be wrong to assume the title was just given away to them on a whim. These sharp and lovely creatures have rightfully earned it. Carrying out his role of a best friend, a police dog recently saved a pro rodeo from a horrible life-altering fate!

The canine used its sharp sense of smell to detect what the naked human eye or the naked human nose couldn’t. One of the spectators at the stadium recorded the dog using its nose to save the day. The dog’s police department shared the news on their social media and linked the video recording of the police K9.

Officer Riggs Rescues Rodeo

According to the Facebook post shared by the Paoli Police Department, the police dog had rescued a pro rodeo cowboy. The police K9 named Officer Riggs found the severed finger of the pro cowboy who lost it in a bull riding accident. Officer Riggs was dispatched by the police immediately to find and recover the finger. Finding the severed finger quickly was very crucial, as delays in dismemberment result in the permanent removal of the lost body part. Officer Riggs utilized his sharp senses and quickly found the finger hidden in the mud of the grounds.

The Paoli Police Department received the video of the recovery operation recorded by one of the rodeo spectators in the stands. They humbly shared the video of the link and gave credit to the watchful citizen. The police said that they typically don’t recover lost body parts, but Officer Riggs gave it an attempt. The police’s shot in the dark worked, and Officer Riggs succeeded at his newest mission in his first attempt. 

Praise for the Four-Legged Hero

The Facebook post garnered a lot of attention from the public, who showered their love on Officer Riggs. People also wished the injured rider a speedy recovery. Another user who claimed to be a pro rodeo thanked the Paoli Police Department and Officer Riggs on behalf of the rodeo community. The police K9 will forever be remembered by the pro bull rider and his family for his deed and will always be in their blessings.

Saving the pro rodeo isn’t the only heroic act the police K9 recently performed. He also helped the Paoli Police Department successfully hunt down a drug dealer in May 2023. Officer Riggs is an indispensable and reliable unit of the Paoli Police Force. He has assisted the police in catching several convicts, rescue operations, and drug busts.
