The PBR introduced the rodeo community to a new venture in 2014 as an additional ground for the riders to shine on. The PBR’s Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) was started as a series to expand the sport and feature the budding talent in the industry; whilst also including the notable names. The series wasn’t an exciting start just for the riders but for the enthusiasts who await shows around the year.

The 5 month-long series runs through 20 states and 30 cities; meeting newer talent with every stop. As the event completed 9 years of existence last year, PBR is now back to announce PWVT’s 10th commencement in the year 2024. In the released list of schedules lasting from Jan through May, the organization has added a new stop for the event; exciting the Connecticut enthusiasts in particular.

Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour to arrive at a new stop

The upcoming five-month tour will host 29 regular-season events, headlined by 11 double-up event weekends. The tour will mark its beginning in Lexington, Kentucky on Jan 5th and 6th. However, further passing through veteran stops in Texas, Michigan, Oregon, and more, PWVT will host the event for the first time at Bridgeport, Connecticut.

The debut showcase of the event in Bridgeport will take place on the 1st and 2nd of March; gracing the Total Mortgage Arena. The venue will welcome the top players in the industry for a fierce showdown, marking the 18th stop for the season. Though the event has previously visited Connecticut 4 times (2006, 2007, 2009, and 2011) in total, it will be the first time that PWVT will enter Bridgeport; reports PBR.

The city will host 2 rounds over days of the event’s stay as 35 of the best bull riders will take center stage; battling for a berth at the ultimate PBR showdown. However, more specific to Bridgeport’s show, the top 10 with the best-combined scores from 2 rounds will proceed to the championship round. From there, it will be just one more round to get hands on the event’s title; which will increase the chances of the rider to advance further.

The rodeo organization excepts big numbers

One of the reasons for PBR to introduce a new stop and venture into a bold step was because of the success it held last year. According to the reports, PWVT welcomed 289,000 fans, setting 21 event attendance records, all while selling out 17 events in 2023. The upcoming tour is an expansion series that will act as a primary ground for riders to qualify for Unleash the Beast.

Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will earn bull riders the points they will require to make it to the PBR Finals or Unleash the Beast. The event will be the final one of the PBR Series after Teams and Challenger. The event will thus pick out the top 5 of the 35 riders to place in the World Finals. With so many stakes on the table to consider, the bull riders are nothing but obliged to put the best foot forward; calling in the audience for a worthy watch. the tickets for the PWVT debut at Bridgeport will go on sale from October 23rd. The dates of tickets will be announced in order for the following venues.
