JJ Hampton, through over three decades of her roping career, has taken on the field to clinch 18 world titles whilst being a licensed realtor. The duel position has added to the rodeo champion’s standing as she broke through the odds and challenged the norms of the industry. At age 50, Hampton continues to keep her spark alive as titles and impressive numbers maneuver their way to the champion.

JJ Hampton found her interest in breakaway roping at a very tender age. Through high school, college, and beyond, through a wavering heart and a difficult path, Hampton ‘learned how to win’. Years later, the rodeo champion, with her 18 titles, continues to present her grit and resilience and the spectators cannot get enough.

The American Rodeo Contender regionals provide the finest of athletes a pathway to the richest one-day rodeo payday. Fierce-enforced qualifying rounds, hundreds of riders, and regional semi-finals later, JJ Hampton found her way to the top in the final round. “That $10k payday feeling courtesy of @jjhampton18x,” The American Rodeo Instagram team shared on the platform. JJ, with her $10,000 was filmed celebrating the victory with an added hop to her steps.

Another one of the AR’s posts asserted Hampton as the “fastest girl in Las Vegas tonight!” The 50-year-old recorded 2.32 seconds in announcing her victory and officially winning the coveted regional finals. And when the champion cheered on self over the triumph, the spectators tagged along.

Rodeo enthusiasts in awe of the champion

JJ Hampton joined the WPRA back in 1991 and has grown to be a household name in the rodeo community. “I took breakaway to another step because when I made a good run back then they couldn’t beat me,” she highlights and the long-time do not object. “Get it, girl! Love your energy! Every time I see you on TV or social media, you just bring a smile to my face!” one of the comments read with love.

Following along, one of the fans exclaimed, “Love. This. JJ making it fun and real for the fans!!!” Another added, “Omg I love you girl way to go!”As a hundred hearts flowed in, more lent their admiration for the rodeo star. “J.J. Shaking a leg!”  a comment read. Another encouraged by saying, “Love her!! Way to go!!” Though JJ’s further plans remain unknown as of yet, her contributions to the breakaway roping will remain a legacy to cherish for generations to arrive.
