“Something I…Want to Experience”- Shaun White Breaks Silence on Engagement Talks With Nina Dobrev

The post-retirement life has already begun for the snowboarding legend, Shaun White. While it was very emotional for him to say goodbye to the sport he has dominated for over decades, he is now ready for everything that lies ahead. On his girlfriend’s suggestion, he has prepared a bucket list of things he wants to do after he bid farewell to the sport.

The first thing he did after coming back from Beijing Winter Olympics was to attend the super bowl. In an extended interview, after his halfpipe event at the Beijing Olympics, Shaun said, “I’m going straight to the Super Bowl.” The legend finally has enough time to do everything that he had added on his list.

Shaun White on getting engaged

In an interview with Dan Patrick, the 35-year-old talked about his engagement plans with his girlfriend, Nina Dobrev. Dan asked the legend, “where is it getting engaged on your list of things to do,” to which he responded, “yeah it’s in there somewhere you know, it’s so nice to finally have the time to spend with somebody you know and I am in an amazing relationship so we’ll see where it goes.”

He further added, “I pushed it off for so long you know, but then once you know your siblings have their own kids and you’re in the mix and family’s so important to me. I’m sure it’s something I definitely want to experience in my life, so we’ll see.”

What’s next for Shaun White?

Apart from super bowls and traveling with his girlfriend, Nina Dobrev, he’ll soon be launching his snowboarding brand ‘Whitespace’ with his brother Jesse. He has announced nothing on his future career prospects so far, but the three times Olympic gold medalists surely has a lot on his mind. From business ventures to a little more of sports, there is no stopping Shaun White, even post-retirement.

Notably, even Tony Hawk has offered him to come back to skateboarding, while coaching is something that’ll be always an option. However, only Shaun White can take a decision about what will be his next endeavor.

For now, he’s having a great time with friends and family, ticking things off his bucket list.
